My journey has been interesting, though not necessarily unique. I think we all come to a point where we
question what we're doing, where we are, and what we want, right? We call it finding our purpose.
Thankfully, my questioning came in my early 30s as a result of several family crises. Quite suddenly, I was
thrown into an "alternative" path, and therein I found my life's purpose: to help others and subsequently
make the world a little better. My mission statement is actually:
Changing the world by changing lives, one person, one moment, one word at a time.
Here's what happened:
After about 15 years in corporate America, I discovered Reiki. I started out receiving Reiki treatments as a client, and found that it helped me balance my busy work schedule and life. Subsequently, due to family illnesses, I had to leave my corporate job, and I decided to train in Reiki. That one decision led to a series of door-openings in which I learned more and more about what's possible, gaining experience, knowledge, and wisdom along the way.
In 2009, a couple of years after starting my Reiki practice, I became a Certified Life Coach and began my writing career with my blog InspireBytes. Within a year, I also completed my Reiki Mastership. I was now able to help my clients both energetically and cognitively. I started doing workshops for corporations and organizations and continued to work with individual clients. I'm always seeking to learn more, however, so I returned to graduate school to add a Masters in Social Work for Clinical Therapy. I passed my licensure exam in 2013.
Somewhere during all of this, as I continued working with various teachers and attending myriad workshops on healing, wellness, and spirituality, I began to develop other gifts from my intuition. My spiritual muscle was being flexed (deliberately for the first time), and everything started to fall into place more quickly and effortlessly. It was as if my path was being laid out before me, and all I had to do was step forward, every day. (I didn't, of course - heck, we're all human! And the path was still there, waiting patiently for me. Thankfully.)
Fast forward to the present, and I continue to walk more boldly on my path, growing, learning, sharing, and teaching others what I have learned. I can honestly say that I love what I do and feel grateful and privileged to be able to help others as they search for their own paths, clearing the obstacles and debris along the way.
Now, how do I do what I do?
As you have just read, I have certifications or licensure in all three of the main components that make up the mind-body-spirit philosophy of wellness. With each client, and in each workshop, I draw from all of my varied experience, training, and intuitive gifts. This allows me to support my clients as they continue their journey of self-awareness and growth in a holistic and integrative manner.
I believe in an interactive approach to change. My working model is the coaching model, supported by my training in and understanding of Reiki and psychotherapy. Through this holistic approach, we learn how to strengthen all of our relationships, including the most important one: the one with our Self.
Now it's time to ask you: Have you been searching for more balance? Greater connection? Deeper understanding? Like me, have you ever asked yourself what’s next? If so, then it’s time. It's time to live authentically and fully, with joy and love.
